Religion teaches you to “fear God because God knows everything bad you have ever done and will punish you at any time for it.”

Right? At least, that is one aspect of religious teachings. There are others, but this is the one I woke up with on my mind this morning.

Hermetics sets you free from that deeply traumatic belief.

This is not just a teaching you receive once – to Fear God. It is something parents instill in you, over and over and over again. They may even take pleasure and pride in it too. Isn’t that sick, twisted, maybe even crossing the line over into abuse? It is.

One TV show that embodies this in a palpable way is Jane the Virgin.

I love this show. Probably because I did not grow up Catholic. I also would probably like it less today for a few reasons (Woke Ideology being woven throughout it and the subtle hatred of white people, to name a few).

The theme of Jane the Virgin is that Jane’s mother Xiomara had Jane when she was just a teenager. Therefore, it is extremely important to Jane’s Catholic grandmother ,Alba, that Jane remain a virgin until she is married. Well in the very first episode, Jane who is a virgin, is artificially inseminated with the sperm of an absolute hottie and wealthy hotel owner. Meanwhile, she has been blue-balling her boyfriend for years (if you don’t know what that mean, Google can help you). The hotel owner’s desperate wife was trying to be inseminated with his sperm in order to keep him interested in her. And the whole story unfolds over 5 seasons where every episode is about whether or not Jane has sex.

This point that Jane has to remain a virgin is hammered home every single episode, including one where Jane’s Grandmother gives young Jane (Jane as a child) a white flower and tells her to crush it in her hand. This was a symbol of how you can never restore your “purity” (virginity) once you “lose” it. Jane had a pristine white flower framed in her bedroom after that.

Religion will mess you up. Badly.

Religions are cults. Catholicism teaching people that it is bad for teens and young, unwed adults to have sex? But then Priests and Nuns are raping children behind closed doors… That’s not even hipocrisy at that point. THAT is something far sinister.

Teaching entire congregations that it is better to hide and lie about pregnancies at any age rather than actually treat the pregnant woman with compassion, and help her through the most challenging time of her life, just because she is young and unwed? Think about that for a single minute. Why would you agree? Unless you were in a cult, in which case “all is forgiven”.

Teenagers having babies are the most scared anyone can be. Especially when their parents are against them the whole time.

Poor, unwed mothers are scared too, but at least the more life experience they have the more foundation they can stand on as people.

Teenagers have the least amount of life experience other than kids. In prior years, they also had the least amount of education around sex, their bodies, and how to prevent pregnancies, let alone what to do when you are actually pregnant.

Why didn’t anyone push back on this in Catholicism, or any other religion that says “getting pregnant as a teenager is worse than what we do to her when she does”? IT’S NOT! Have you seen what you do to pregnant women? It’s terrible.

Abortions are another story. Would you rather live with the result of having a child you did not plan for, or the lifetime of knowing you aborted your child before you had a chance to meet him or her?

I do not hold it against anyone who had an abortion once. Or for dire medical reasons. But I am not pro-choice anymore.

I do believe people are being lied to there too. Pro-choice is a cult as well. Pro-choice people blatantly lie and hide the truth from those seeking abortions. This has been discussed ad nauseum, but I can start sharing that content if you have not seen it yet.

You can only claim ignorance before your first abortion. But not after that.

Back to my original point, after having said all of that – because they are related. This not an ADHD rant. It is serious.

You have been brain-washed into believing that you should fear God because “God knows everything you have ever done and might decide at any point to punish you for it.”

Hermetics teaches you that that is not God’s way.

Thank the Lord! Hallelujah. THAT IS NOT GOD’S WAY!

God is not waiting to punish you around every corner. Life does that to you enough as it is.

God is here to Love you in the hard times and the good. God is Love, God is Light, God is everything GOOD about the world. Anything else is not God, it is something else. Religion takes that “something else” and teaches you that it is God. New Age says “God is Good AND everything else too.” Neither one knows God, really. Who am I to say what’s right? I’m not an expert. I am someone who has a choice. I am someone who believes that your beliefs shape your life. And I choose to believe that God is great!

I also admire the people who teach me that. They are some of the best people on the planet. Kind, caring, wise, intelligent, compassionate, realistic, understanding, will tell you like it is without sugar-coating it and will also teach you how to give yourself grace when you’re being too punitive against yourself again.

Do you know who else knows every single thing you have ever done and every single thing that has ever been done to you?

It is not your Mother, or your Father. They may have made you believe that is true. Maybe they know a lot, a lot more than they let on. But they do not know everything. You know that is true.

Even if your parents terrified you into thinking they could see all, even when you thought they weren’t paying attention, who is it that knows everything about the things that happened to you or that you have done in your life?

It’s YOU! Even if you have forgotten. Even if your brain locked those memories away in order to protect you as you grow. Even if you dissociated during traumatic events. You know everything that happened to you. You know.

Are you waiting around every corner to punish yourself?

If you are Catholic, the answer is probably “I am punishing myself for something I did when I was 15 years old.” That is what Catholicism does to you. That is why it is a cult. Catholicism instills this idea of God in you in such a sinister way that it trains you to punish yourself all the time so God doesn’t have to. Catholicism teaches you to punish yourself before God has to, because “God” will punish you so much worse if you do not.

That is not God. That is something else.

And yet, this is why Catholic parents are awful to their children. Because they are even worse to themselves, whether their kids can see that or not.

You are not allowed to say parents are awful to their children in religion. You are supposed to show compassion to people who abuse kids.

WRONG! I am not doing that!

In Hermetics, we call a spade a spade.

I show compassion to HUMANS, abusers and those they abuse by FIRST acknowledging the reality of the situation.

Thank God for Hermetics. God saw humans after the fall and said “They are going to need this”, and handed Adam the Hermetic Path to preserve for us to survive the terrible things we would do to one other.

And boy, did humans prove God right. We need Hermetics everybody. Everybody, we NEED HERMETICS. Every step of the way we need Hermetics.

So we can say “Fuck Catholicism. Suck it Christianity. Adios Judaism! Ciao Islam! Sayonara Buddhism. Adieu Taoism. Goodbye Zoroastraoinism. See you Never Hinduism!” and every other religion that keeps fucking people up in the head by using God or some idea of a “non-God/God-like entity” as a way to separate you from the actual reality that you are just as much God as you are Human.

In Hermetics, we do work with the Gods and Goddesses of the different pantheons. We may learn what is taught in those religions. But we don’t ever have to study a single religion again because we have Hermetics. I will explain why in a second.

The only reason you care about God to begin with is because You are God just as much as you are Human. In fact, the longer you walk the Hermetic Path in alignment with this reality, the more you come to discover that you are actually MORE God than you are Human. But everybody has to start somewhere. You choose where you want to begin. Equally God and Human, or More God than Human? Which one makes more sense to you?

Every religion shares something with Hermetics because every single religion takes some piece of the eternal and uses it for their own gain. Religious leaders who go to school and never question the most horrifying parts of their religions are the ones who rise to the top. Look at them. One of the clearest examples of this in children’s entertainment is Father Frolo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. He is peak Catholic Father (Priest).

I may have not grown up going to a Catholic church, but I see the damage Catholicism does to the human mind, body, emotions, and soul.

Fuck Catholicism. I do not concern myself with how much benefit you gain from it. It is not holy, as it claims to be.

Do you know how I know this? Because every die-hard Catholic is going to read this post and invoke another entity as “the one” guiding me to write this.

I don’t have to invoke this “other entity” when people oppose me. They are not possessed. They are not being led down a dark path.

I see the reality. The reality is that that person is God in the flesh, and he or she does not yet know what he or she does not yet know.

That is what Jesus taught us to do. “Forgive them Father, for they do not know.” He never invokes God to punish people for our ignorance. “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.” Not “punish them Father for they have sinned! They’re sinners! Get them! Get them with the stone! Can I do it? Is it my turn yet?” Jesus wasn’t like the rest of us. He knew Himself so well that he did not even want to be like us. He wanted to show us what was possible if we just wanted to try. That is why I looked up to Jesus even when I left the church.

Catholicism is so out of alignment with Christ it is not even funny. My guess is that Catholicism has been organized and sustained by people who never believed in Christ to begin with. That is why their crosses are always the most horrifying depictions of Christ. “Look at what the world does to the person you claim is your Savior. What a terrible place to be!” That is what I hear when I see those crosses hanging in churches. Also “God really suffered to show us the Way and what do we do? We glorify the pain more than the path itself.”

In Hermetics, we believe Christ was an amazing Savior. He still is to this day. Christ did service to humanity so great, nearly all humans will never be able to fathom the depths of his Love for us. And Her Love too. Mary Magdalene was a part of His Team.

I know you can probably not imagine the kind of love Christ has for us, especially if you grew up Catholic.

Christ is warm. Loving. He died because he wanted us to live amazing lives. He saw the state of the world in his time and said “Not today, not now, not ever again.” And he CHOSE to follow the path he had to walk in order to be the God he wished to see in the World. Because the rest of the Gods in the world – us humans – had no clue we could do something like that until Christ came along.

It always bothers me that churches focus on the resurrection for 50,000,000 days but they NEVER dedicate the same amount of time to sharing what Christ did on Earth after he was resurrected.

HELLO? Isn’t that part of the miracle too??? The man rose from the dead and no one can tell me what He did AFTER HE CAME BACK TO LIFE? Or how long He was here? The answers I’ve gotten have been unsatisfactory. “I think he was here for 40 days”. AND DID WHAT???? HELLO???? Healed people? HOW! What did the man do?? Why does no one care enough to uncover this?

It’s because they don’t actually care what Christ did. They care about what he symbolizes, because the symbols are nebulous. They can be twisted to mean whatever the religion teaches you they mean. His acts cannot be argued with once you understand what they actually are. Hermetics teaches you that and more.

That is why I choose Hermetics every single day. Hermetics teaches that Christ is amazing. In a relatable way. The coolest, chillest, most badass gangster you could ever meet. That is how I envision him anyway. A person who has cultivated so much confidence and inner authority that He walks through this world, gun in one hand, whatever the fuck he wants in the other, doing whatever he feels like it because his feelings come from a deep understanding and embodiment of Love and Light. And he does this with compassion, care, a sense of reality most of us will never even dream of, and a “you are not going to fuck with me or anyone I care about ever again” mentality. That’s my Jesus, anyway.

That is why I choose to study and train in Hermetics. Because Christ is awesome. He is Amazing. When I was 12 (or somewhere around there) I asked Christ to save me. I committed to Christ that I would do whatever it takes to make the world a better place according to His Way. That led me out of the church, even though this event happened at a church camp. It led me into the forest, studying Wicca with friends. It led me to Astrology, Tarot, it led me to wanting to die by suicide because there seemed to be no better way, because that is what Religion teaches you, not Christ, not God, religion teaches you that the best way to be like Christ is to die in a painful and twisted way, publicly so everyone can see.

My desire to Serve God, to serve Christ, to serve the Light, to make the world a better place led me out of that dire place right through the doors of The Modern Mystery School Boston, and into The Modern Mystery School International to train as a Healer, Teacher, Bad Ass Ritual Master, and (someday) a Loving, Caring Guide.

Religion sucks. I can say that, because I am free of the dogma that religion uses to entrap those who follow it. It takes people looking for God and teaches them everything that God is not but calls it God. That’s what religion does.

Your kids deserve your love. Especially when they mess up. We all make mistakes. Wouldn’t you rather have had parents who yelled at you a bit when you were wrong, but then held your hand, held you close, let you cry on their shoulder and told you “I don’t know how, but I know everything will be okay. We’ve got this. We are going to figure this out together.”? I know that is the kind of parent I desire to be. That is why I train at the Modern Mystery School. That is what I aim to teach.

That is breaking generational curses. That is breaking the cycle right there.

Become the parent you wish your parents had been. Start with yourself first, not your kids. Then let that trickle out from there. You cannot give what you do not have to share. You obtain it by giving it to yourself first.

You deserve to heal. Not your brother, not your mother, not your children, not your husband or wife. You have to believe that you deserve to heal first and foremost. Every time, it has to be about you first. You cannot give what you do not have to share.

You deserve to know Christ’s love, the real Christ, not the one churches hold up as a symbol of how awful the world is or can be. You went to church looking for help and support, and you were turned into a fearless shell of a human being. That is not what Christ does. That is not the Hermetic path in any way.

What you will notice while walking the Path of Hermetics:

A shared sense of understanding between all the religions I mentioned and more. In a way that actually resonates. Because Hermetics is encoded in your spiritual DNA.
